Randy Gwirtzman

Randy Gwirtzman is a Portfolio Manager at Baron Capital specializing in U.S. small and mid-cap growth equities. His areas of expertise include Health Care (medical devices, information technology, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology), Advanced Industrials (aerospace, defense, alternative energy, and automotive), Technology (semiconductors and semiconductor capital equipment) and Systems Software (cybersecurity, network observability, and identity). He joined the Firm in 2002 as a Research Analyst and has 29 years of research experience. Previously, he was a Research Analyst at Tyndall Partners, an Analyst covering high yield and corporate bonds at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and an Analyst focused on long/short investing and risk arbitrage at various ING Furman Selz hedge funds. Earlier in his career, he spent five years as an Associate Attorney specializing in bankruptcy litigation at Salomon Green & Ostrow. Randy earned his MBA from Columbia Business School, his JD cum laude from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was the managing editor of the Cardozo Law Review, and his BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a CFA charterholder.
