Ron Baron

Ron Baron is Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and a Portfolio Manager at Baron Capital. He founded the Firm in 1982 and has 56 years of research experience. Earlier in his career, Ron worked for several brokerage firms as an institutional securities analyst. Prior to that, he worked at the U.S. Patent Office as a patent examiner while attending George Washington University Law School. He previously served as a teaching fellow in biochemistry at Georgetown University. Ron earned his BA in Chemistry from Bucknell University. He is passionate about learning from the businesses in which Baron Capital invests and mentoring younger analysts, including his sons, David and Michael, who serve as Co-Presidents of the Firm. He also loves The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, and Billy Joel, as well as contemporary art and architecture. Ron is deeply committed to supporting Jewish causes and values staying active, helping others, and spending time with his family above all else.
