Michael Lippert joined Baron Capital in 2001 as a research analyst and was named portfolio manager of Baron Opportunity Fund in 2006 and Baron Technology Fund in 2021. In 2020, he was named head of technology research. He has 26 years of research experience.

Ishay Levin is an Assistant Portfolio Manager and Research Analyst at Baron Capital, where he focuses on software, aerospace and defense, electrical equipment, and automotive companies.<strong>&nbsp;</strong>He joined the Firm in 2015 as a Research Analyst and has 12 years of research experience. Earlier in his career, he was a Vice President on the Direct Investing Desk at Hudson Bay Capital Management. Ishay earned his MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with honors from Haifa University in Israel with a BA in Multidisciplinary Studies. Before his career in finance, he spent more than a decade as a pilot, living and working across three continents—Africa, Asia, and North America.

Research Analyst

Akhilesh Kumawat is a Research Analyst at Baron Capital focused on the AI ecosystem, including AI models, cloud infrastructure, semiconductors, hardware, networking infrastructure, and quantum computing. He joined the Firm in 2024 and has 5 years of research experience. Previously, he was a Senior Research Associate at Bernstein Research, where he covered U.S. semiconductors and semi-cap equipment. Earlier in his career, he held various roles at startups in the renewable energy and mobility industries and worked as a Reservoir Evaluation Engineer at Schlumberger.
